The Vaporesso Zero 2
Overall, the Vaporesso Zero 2 is a solid pod system for beginners, although more experienced users may not enjoy the simplicity of Vaporesso’s new pod kit. With no buttons, airflow control, or settings, some people will adore the Zero 2 while others will find it too basic.
Yet, no matter what you think of simple devices or pod systems in general, you have to admit that the Vaporesso Zero 2 has a sleek and unique design, almost akin to a sports car. A small pod vape measuring only 89 mm x 31.8 mm x 19 mm, the second Zero is rectangular with a rounded top.
You should also note that despite the fun design, the Zero 2 can be a bit of a fingerprint magnet. So, if you are bothered by smudges, you may not like this pod system. But the product does not crack easily, which is great no matter who becomes its owner, but especially for people who are extra worried about appearance.
Instead of buttons or a screen on this little pod kit, there are only four LED lights in a strip that runs across the top that tell you the remaining battery life. Additionally, because there are no buttons, the device is only draw-activated.

Pods
Like most pod vapes, the Vaporesso Zero 2 comes with two pods for you to try out, and they each have built-in coils. Also, like many similar systems, the pods are backward compatible with the original Zero pods.
For the most part, the mesh pod has become the favorite of the two. It has a medium-strength draw and hits well. However, once the battery gets low, the strength disappears a bit in the mesh coil.
The mesh pod also produces good flavor, and the mesh coil continues to work even when chain vaping. Additionally, the airflow is excellent for an MTL vape, and this pod is great for stealth vaping because of its relatively low cloud output.
Conversely, the CCELL pod hasn’t been as well received. The main issue with these pods is that the coil is weak, and you will get little vapor and a below sub-par flavor. They also have a much tighter draw than their counterparts that many people say is too tight.

Using the Pods
You will find that switching out and refilling the pods in the Vaporesso Zero 2 is quite easy, just like everything else on the device. Furthermore, since the pods are compatible with the earlier Zero, filling them becomes even easier if you are familiar with that earlier model.
The pods are held in place with strong magnets to keep them from moving, but all you need to do is pull on them to get them out. Similarly, to replace them, just place them back inside the device, and they will snap into the model.
Refilling the disposable pods is the same as on the original Zero also.
To refill them, you first need to remove them and then find the metal valve on the bottom. You can then place the tip of your e-juice bottle into the spring-loaded valve and squeeze the liquid inside while applying downward pressure. This style of fill port is the push-to-fill system, and it has become popular in the vape industry because of how easy it is to use.
However, the valve in the Vaporesso Zero 2 pods is quite small, so you will need a filling bottle with a fine tip. But the kit does come with a fine-tip bottle so that you don’t need to worry about your bottles being too thick.
Battery
The Vaporesso Zero 2 has an internal battery with an 800 mAh battery capacity. The original Vaporesso Zero only has a capacity of 650 mAh, so there is an improvement in battery life.
The battery meter on the Vaporesso Zero 2 pod system is quite simple to understand. There are four LED lights that tell you how much battery you have left.
The lights work as so:
- Four lights mean 100% to 80%
- Three lights mean 79% to 60%
- Two lights mean 59% to 30%
- One light means less than 30%
Charging
Overall, the battery’s charge rate is 1A, and it takes about 45 minutes to get the device fully charged. Since most vapes take an hour or more to charge, the Zero 2 model makes good time. Your device will let you know it is at full charge when all four of the LED lights are on.
You will also find that this device has a type-C cable which is typical for a modern vape. For years, manufacturers only used type-C cables to charge larger electronics like computers, but over time they began to use these more powerful cables for smaller devices.
The type-C port is on the bottom of the unit, like in most models.
Power
Overall, the output power in this system isn’t great at only 11W or 9W, depending on which pod you use, but that isn’t surprising for a small pod device. Also, there is no way to adjust the wattage, but, as mentioned earlier, that isn’t shocking for this type of vape.
E-Liquid
For the most part, you can use any vape juice in the Zero pod that you like, including salt nic products. However, many people believe that liquids containing 50% PG and 50% VG are best for the Zero pod.
Coils
Unfortunately, since this device has disposable pods, you cannot change the coils. While this feature may be upsetting to some, others will be glad that they don’t have to deal with installing a new coil.
When using this device, you will find that, overall, the 1-ohm coil (11W) performs well and gives you excellent performance. So, you won’t have to worry too much about the mesh coil.
On the other hand, though, the 1.3-ohm coil (9W) leaves a lot to be desired, and, unfortunately, you will have to draw quite hard to get even a decent performance from this coil.
Finally, the coils have a good life span. For most pods, you can only get through about 10-12ml of liquids before you need to replace it, but the Zero 2 can go through about twice that before you need a new one.
